Wolterton estate presents a unique opportunity for anyone planning an important event, such as a conference, wedding or anniversary party.

There are five properties available which can be rented individually or as a whole, giving you the exclusive use of the Hall, East Wing, The Steward’s House, The Treasury, The Garden House and The Gate House as well as the Park and grounds.

The State Rooms in the Hall can be used for a major reception. They were designed to entertain important guests in the eighteenth century including the King and Queen and foreign dignitaries. They still impress today as they are double height rooms with elaborate cornices and ceilings, enormous original marble fireplaces and huge windows with wonderful views over the lake. They are arranged around the full height Palladian stone staircase which allows circulation from room to room but also back into the hall.

The State Rooms are furnished with original tapestries, 18th century portraits, crystal chandeliers, period furniture and Persian carpets. There is access from the Saloon on to the stone balcony to the gardens below. The balcony is over 100 feet long and 10 feet deep, larger than that on Buckingham Palace, and makes a perfect place to drink a glass of champagne overlooking what is regarded as one of the finest views in Norfolk.

Walk down the stone steps at each end to the gardens below which can hold a large marquee in the West Garden. You can walk around the lake with the swans, geese and ducks which is full of wildlife including dragonflies and many rare species.

The complete restoration and refurbishment of Wolterton to high level of style and comfort makes it is an ideal venue for events where grandeur and a sense of occasion are required.

Weddings at the Hall

Wolterton Hall and parkland offer a setting like no other.  This is a very special home and a unique venue and we plan to offer just 6 exclusive wedding celebrations each year for those looking for the ultimate venue in North Norfolk.  Each will be completely individual and a true reflection of our guests style.  From the moment you decide to celebrate your marriage at Wolterton to the day you depart, we will be on hand to make the experience as simple, fun, rewarding and utterly special as possible.

Film/Photo Shoots

The Wolterton estate offers the perfect back drop and unique location for both film and photo shoots.  The large scale of the property, its mix of elegantly restored and evolving interiors, impressive exterior and extensive, diverse grounds, make Wolterton a great choice for larger scale commercials, fashion shoots and dramas.  

Receptions and Private Parties

With unlimited parking close to the Hall, extensive reception rooms, large kitchen, service lift and convenient prep area on the first floor, we can offer you and your guests a truly special space for a private party or alternatively, you may prefer a celebration by the lake where guests are welcome to enjoy the grounds.  We have full power and water to the gardens and easy access for suppliers too.  Chris, our House Manager and Alex, our Executive Chef will be happy to help you plan your event, or if you prefer to make your own arrangements, this can be accommodated too.  

Private tours

We offer occasional private tours throughout the year through Invitation to View and the Historic Houses Association.  These are extremely popular and as places are limited, we do also consider a handful of private tours for 12 to 20 guests and if this is something you would like to book with a group of friends, please call the office to discuss availability and tour options.

Shooting Parties

The Wolterton Estate offers one of the finest shoots in the county in gorgeous surroundings.  Your syndicate with 7-9 guns will stay in our luxury accommodation for 2 nights, fully catered. This is a perfect opportunity for corporate and private parties.

Concerts

The owners of Wolterton Park are keen to support and promote music and the arts. Our Saloon and Marble Hall make a perfect setting for a private concert or recital with seating for 80 guests.  Drinks can be served on the balcony and guests are welcome to wander down to the grounds to enjoy the lakeside views.  Waitress service and catering by arrangement.
